UTIs can affect different parts of the urinary tract, but the most common type is a bladder infection. Approximately 50% to 60% of adult women will experience at least one UTI in their lifetime.
At-home UTI testing is one method of detecting a urinary tract infection.  It helps identify UTIs in your family and can help prevent further damage to your health. This is a common infection that can cause fever, diarrhea, body pain, bladder infection, heart infection, and meningitis. Also called a urine dipstick, this test involves dipping a test strip into a sample of urine to check for substances that are often present when you have a urinary tract infection.

• Leukocytes : The presence of leukocytes (white blood cells) in urine is an important finding in inflammatory conditions of the kidneys and urinary tract.
• Nitrite : Nitrites eliminated via the urinary tract may only arise due to the conversion of nitrate into nitrite by bacteria inside the urinary tract, so one of the most important symptoms of a bacterial UTI is the presence of nitrite in the urine.
• Blood : It can find a small amount of blood cells in your urine and other types of cells, chemicals, and substances.
• Protein: Normally, you have very little protein in your urine. A large amount of protein in urine (proteinuria) may mean that you have a problem with your kidneys

TEST PROCEDURE:

 1) Open the foil pouch and take out the test strip. Do not touch the test fields. Once opened the pouch, it is recommended to perform the test immediately.
2) Dip the test strip in the urine sample.
ATTENTION: Press the strip and make sure that all four test fields are immersed for about 1-2 seconds.

3) Then remove the test strip and wipe off any surplus urine against the rim of the container or with an absorbent material (e.g. a paper towel) to avoid mixing chemicals from adjacent reagent areas.

4) Wait for 2 min. (do not read results after 3 minutes) Read the result separately for each parameter, compare color with color chart provided.
