Product Description

Early Cancer Detection Colon Cancer Home Collection Screening Test

What are colorectal cancer screening tests?

Colorectal cancer screening tests check for signs of colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is a type of cancer that affects the colon or rectum. The colon makes up most of the large intestine. The rectum is at the end of the large intestine and connects to the anus.  Colorectal cancer screening can sometimes prevent cancer from even developing

  • What are they used for?

Colorectal cancer screening tests are used to check for signs of colorectal cancer and/or to remove colorectal polyps.

Why do I need a colorectal cancer screening test?

The National Cancer Institute and other expert medical groups recommend people get regular screenings for colorectal cancer, starting at age 50. The American Cancer Society recommends that people begin screening at age 45. You should talk with your health care provider about when you should start and about the different types of screening tests.

You may need to be screened at a younger age, or more often, if you have certain risk factors including:

    • A family history of colorectal cancer
    • Previously had colorectal polyps
    • A family history of, or having had, ovarian cancer
    • Inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease

2. To collect fecal specimens:
The stool specimen should be collected in the stool collection paper or clean collection containers.
Please use the stool collection paper,        avoiding contamination of the specimen by taking precautions that the specimen or side of paper      containing specimen does not come in contact with any contaminating objects including toilet cleaners.

Unscrew the cap of the specimen collection tube ,then randomly stab the specimen collection applicator into the fecal specimen in at least 3 different sites. Do not scoop the fecal specimen.

Interpreting results:

Positive:
Two colored lines appears in the result window, one in the test region and another one in the control region. This indicates a positive result no matter the test line is stronger or weaker than the control line.
Negative:
Only the control line appears in the result window. This indicates a negative test result.
Invalid:
If the control line does not appear, the test results are invalid regardless of the presence or absence of the test line.
NOTE:
Insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for the control line failure. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new device. If problem persists, please contact your local distributor.
